JUNIOR SCHOOL 

3 TO 8 YEARS

From the age of 3, students will begin their learning of classical ballet through creative movement. Our program aims to develop body awareness, coordination, musicality as well as the love of dance.

Gradually, the students progress on the five levels of the Junior School in order to acquire the basics of classical ballet which prepare them for the program of the Senior School.

Beginners I (4 years)

On Saturday  

9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.

Lasting 45 minutes, this course develops the creativity, coordination and musicality of the student. The basic positions of classical ballet are learned at this level. The course will evolve through exercises that work on the creativity of the student. This course is accompanied by a pianist.

Beginners II (5  years)

On Saturday  

9:50 a.m. to 10:35 a.m.

With a duration of 45  minutes, this course further develops the creativity, coordination and musicality of the student. The basic positions of classical ballet will be worked on more at this level. The class will evolve through exercises on the floor, in the center and on the diagonal.  This course is accompanied by a pianist.

Level I (6  years)

On Saturday  

10:40 a.m. to 11:35 a.m.

With a duration of 55  minutes, this course develops muscle strength, flexibility, coordination of the child  while developing his creativity.  Center, diagonal and improvisation exercises are explored at this level.  This course is accompanied by a pianist.

Level II (7  years)

On Saturday

Lasting one hour, this class further develops the technique, alignment, flexibility and muscular strength that classical ballet requires. The vocabulary of classical dance are instilled with exercises in the center. The pupil explores the expressive qualities of movement by means of improvisation. This course is accompanied by a pianist.

Pre-Ballet (8  years)

On Saturday

In this course, the student is introduced to the work at the bar and  further explores the expressive qualities of movement. The notion of outside will be introduced and the  flexibility work will be more active. The pupil will work more on the jumps of classical ballet. This course is accompanied by a pianist.

Creative Ballet I (3 to 4 years old)

Friday

With a duration of 45  minutes, this lesson introduces the child to  explore the possibilities of body movement through improvisation. He becomes aware of space as well as  qualities of movement. Rhythmic exercises associated with movement will be explored in this course. Overall, the emphasis is on the development of the student's creativity.
